Passenger Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) provides the federally required theory instruction for drivers seeking a Passenger (P) endorsement, in accordance with 49 CFR Part 380, Appendix C. This course covers passenger safety and supervision, proper loading and unloading procedures, vehicle inspection requirements, emergency response, hours of service considerations, and managing passenger-related hazards. Upon successful completion, training results are submitted to the FMCSA Training Provider Registry (TPR), allowing drivers to proceed to behind-the-wheel training and Passenger endorsement skills testing.
