This online course provides essential theoretical instruction for operators of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), including scissor lifts, boom lifts, and articulating platforms. Participants will learn about MEWP classifications, components, pre-operation inspections, and safe operation procedures in accordance with ANSI A92, OSHA 29 CFR 1910 & 1926, and manufacturer standards. The course emphasizes accident prevention, fall protection, tip-over hazards, powerline safety, and proper inspection and maintenance practices. Additional modules cover refueling, battery care, and recordkeeping requirements. This course fulfills the classroom (theory) portion of MEWP operator certification; any required hands-on practical evaluations must be completed in person at a later date. A certificate of completion is automatically issued upon successfully passing all quizzes and the final exam with a score of 80% or higher.
