This Heavy Equipment Cargo Securement course provides commercial drivers, equipment operators, fleet managers, and safety professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to safely transport heavy machinery in compliance with FMCSA regulations and 49 CFR Part 393, Subpart I. Participants will learn how to properly inspect trailers and securement equipment, select and apply appropriate tie-down methods, calculate working load limits, secure articulating and movable components, and address the unique challenges of transporting tracked and wheeled equipment. The course also covers weight distribution, loading procedures, in-transit inspection requirements, common violations, emergency response protocols, and industry best practices to prevent accidents, protect equipment, and maintain regulatory compliance.
