DOT Hazmat General Awareness and Familiarization Training provides employees with foundational knowledge required for compliance with the Hazardous Materials Regulations under 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H. This course introduces the structure of the HMR, hazard classes and packaging groups, use of the Hazardous Materials Table, marking and placarding requirements, shipping papers, and basic emergency and security awareness. Participants gain the awareness needed to recognize hazardous materials, understand their roles and responsibilities, and support safe, compliant hazmat transportation operations.
