This online course provides comprehensive theoretical instruction for the safe and effective operation of skid steer loaders in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.20(b)(4) and 1926.21(b)(2). Participants will learn about equipment design, operating principles, stability and load dynamics, safe travel on slopes and ramps, and proper use of attachments. The course also covers pre-operation inspections, maintenance requirements, fueling procedures, and safe jobsite practices to prevent rollovers, collisions, and other incidents. Emphasis is placed on understanding the differences between wheeled, tracked, and all-wheel-steer models, as well as recognizing and mitigating common hazards. This program fulfills the classroom (theory) portion of skid steer loader operator certification; all required hands-on practical evaluations must be completed in person at a later date. A certificate of completion is automatically issued upon successfully passing all quizzes and the final exam with a score of 80% or higher.
